Fuliza is an overdraft facility that allows you to complete M-PESA transactions when you have insufficient funds. The cost of using Fuliza is broken down into two main components:
- 1% Access Fee: A one-off fee charged immediately on the amount you borrow.
- Daily Maintenance Fee: A daily fee charged every day at midnight (00:00 hrs) that you carry an outstanding balance.
Excise Duty & Taxes
The daily maintenance fee is subject to a 20% Excise Duty. Our calculator automatically applies this tax to give you a realistic estimate of the total amount that will be deducted.
The 3-Day Waiver Rule
For Fuliza balances of KSh 1,000 and below, Safaricom offers a 3-day grace period on the daily maintenance fee. If you repay the amount within the first 3 days, you will only pay the 1% access fee. After the 3 days, daily fees begin accruing.
